The vision for a Good Life is a foundational tool. This includes an upward trajectory towards positive life outcomes and a downward trajectory towards things that are unwanted.

While most people would start with the upward trajectory, a good place to start might actually be by identifying what a person does not want.  Starting with what a person does not want could lead to thinking about what you do want.  Having a vision for a good life will easily lead to a conversation about why employment is so critical to that vision as many items will cost money.
