In order to better understand the differences in the 5 Core Content Levels.  Please turn to page 69 in Kentucky Early Childhood Core Content.  Read through the competencies regarding the roles of staff related to a daily classroom schedule. As you read through the table, notice how each level requires additional knowledge and skills.

Because the knowledge and skills at each level builds on the previous level, each level should be viewed as a prerequisite to the next. In other words Early childhood staff should acquire the knowledge and skills identified at Level I, then at Level II, etc.  When you are finished reviewing this competency you are encouraged to look through other competencies and note the progression.

The progression of learners as they gain knowledge and skills and progress into different levels of learning.
