Organizational Tips for Trainers S20
You will have the opportunity to observe a room setup during the face to face portion of FET. You will see examples of room arrangement ideas that may work for you as well.
First let’s think about the organizational needs in the trainer’s work-space.
Trainer Work Space
Looking at the list below what 4 physical features contribute to the actual efficiency and effectiveness of the trainer’s work space from the following 7 options.
Electrical outlets within 3 to 6 feet of the projector
Incorrect! Effective trainers should always carry an extension cord.
An unobstructed view of the trainer
Correct! Participants should be able to easily see the trainer at all times.
A fan/space heater near where the trainer stands
Incorrect! This doesn’t necessarily contribute to the efficiency/effectiveness of your session.
A station/table for the computer, LCD, handouts and immediate items for the trainer
Correct! Having space for trainer technology and immediate needs keeps the trainer from using trainee table space.
A storage table near the trainer’s presentation area, with ready-to-use supplies
Correct! Training supplies should be within easy reach and well organized to ensure a good training flow.
A smaller storage container for loose items like pens, paper clips, tape, markers, etc.
Correct! Small items tend to get lost in large containers.
A padded mat to stand on
Incorrect! This doesn’t necessarily contribute to the efficiency/effectiveness of your session. Since you will be moving around the room, wearing comfortable shoes is a better option.
