Getting Started

  1. Sign Conduct Policies.
  2. Make Prenatal Outreach Rep assignments. Not everyone will be the right fit—give them other roles. Provide ideas
  3. Distribute notebooks and digital files to Prenatal Outreach Reps: including the introduction letter, the script, Lunch and Learn presentation, Medical Outreach training slides, the contact log, and the materials.
  4. Start making calls and visits and tracking the information.
  5. Report quarterly to the Medical Outreach supervisor.
  6. Encourage Prenatal Outreach Reps to provide ongoing support for medical professionals:
  7. Set up a presentation for the entire office. “Lunch and Learn” or breakfast an option. OfficeOutreachPresentation.pdf
  8. Make introductions when changing volunteers.
  9. Make sure that e-mails/phone numbers are ALWAYS covered with back up when there is sickness, travel, lack of interest etc.  That is probably a good role for DSDN if there are gaps in a regional area for support (or say when the ED of a group is arrested, lol.)  Example: I know moms who have said” we called, or we sent an e-mail through the FB group and never heard back from anyone.
  10. Provide ongoing organizational support for Prenatal Outreach Representatives
