Week 10 – Synthesizing Discovery and Preparing for Planning Meeting

Welcome to Week 10 of the Customized Employment Training Program. This lesson focuses on preparing for the Discovery Planning Meeting, a key step in moving from Discovery to job development.

This week, you will learn how to finalize Discovery materials, ensuring that your notes, Staging Record, and Visual Résumé accurately reflect the jobseeker’s strengths, preferences, and conditions for success. You will also prepare to conduct the Discovery Planning Meeting, where these materials are shared with the jobseeker, supporters, and mentor to collaboratively plan next steps.

This week is about connecting all the pieces of Discovery into a coherent story that can be shared with employers and your mentor. Careful synthesis ensures that the jobseeker’s talents and preferences are clearly communicated and ready for the next steps in customized employment planning.
