Topic 2: Modified Adjusted Gross Income (MAGI) Medicaid, Resources, and LOC
Modified Adjusted Gross Income (MAGI) Medicaid, Resources, and LOC
Resources are not considered in the MAGI MA eligibility determination.
MAGI MA eligible individuals are required to apply for any benefits to which they may be entitled. These benefits include but are not limited to:
Black Lung
Retirement, Survivors, and Disability Income (RSDI)
Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
Unemployment Insurance Benefits (UIB)
Veterans Administration (VA)
Railroad Retirement
If an individual has a Level of Care (LOC), other categories of assistance must be explored, such as Non-MAGI Medicaid, an RSDI application, or an SSI application if an individual has become disabled.
What is a Level of Care (LOC)?
A Level of Care (LOC) is a record that is received in Worker Portal as notice that an individual has been assessed and it has been determined that it is medically necessary for them to receive waiver services, Hospice, or placement in a Nursing Facility.
