Thinkspot: Favorite Training Methods F19

In your ?handout turn to Training Design page 21 and answer the two questions at the bottom of that page.

  1. What is your favorite training method to participate in as a learner?
  2. If you are an experienced trainer, what are your preferred training methods as a facilitator?

Next, reflect on your responses to these questions. Generally, your favorite ‘training methods’ experienced as a participant also match the type of ‘training methods’ you would be most comfortable using as a trainer because…

… what we like to experience, we also find easier to use as we train others.

It is not unusual to find common ground between how we like to learn and how we like to train. There is nothing wrong with that, if you recognize it for what it is. This means, just like eating ice cream is wonderful occasionally, but it would not be a good idea to eat ice cream at every meal.

The same goes for your favorite training methods.  They are effective and useful when they are not used over and over to the exclusion of using a variety of other methods.

Once you complete the assignment, “Create Your Own Training Activity”, you will have completed FET 6: Training Methods. Please move on to FET 7: Training Aids, found under “My Courses”.
