PHT 203: Prenatal Medical Outreach Training for Trainees

Learning Objectives

This course is a tool to be used by local advocacy organizations to help train Prenatal Outreach Representatives either online or in a group training session. Individuals may request permission to use this course if they live in an area where no other local advocacy organizations currently offer medical outreach to support new and expectant parents. 

  • Describe the purpose and value of medical outreach 
  • Identify important prenatal screening technology, research on prenatal issues, and prenatal policy initiatives 
  • Outline the responsibilities of a Prenatal Outreach Representative
  • Describe how to approach doctors and share resources as a Prenatal Outreach Representative
