Modified Adjusted Gross Income (MAGI) Medicaid

MAGI Medicaid (MA) is extended to adults and children who meet appropriate technical and financial eligibility factors.  

An individual must meet all of the following criteria to be potentially eligible for Medicaid:

  • The individual must be a resident of the state of Kentucky.
  • The individual must be a U.S. Citizen or meet eligible immigrant requirements.  
  • The individual must be able to verify their identity.
  • The individual must apply for all statutory benefits they may be entitled to receive.  

MAGI MA eligibility is determined by one of the following four categories:

Children under 19

Pregnant women

Parents and caretaker relatives

Low-income adults aged 19 to 64

Low-income adults aged 19-64 is the most commonly used eligibility category for individuals under guardianship.
