Recommendation 9: Prioritize inclusive language.

  • Hispanic parents value the importance of having resources and support available in multiple languages, including Spanish. 
  • Black parents recommend a task force to help advocacy leaders navigate the most sensitive and correct terminology for advocacy organizations to use when discussing race and disability. Parents have expressed a need to recognize differences in preferences for terminology and needs between different geographic regions and cultures.
