Most
students with significant cognitive disabilities are in the categories
of intellectual disabilities, autism, and multiple disabilities (most
prevalent, but not limited to)
If
the disability category is other than intellectual disability, multiple
disability, autism, or TBI – it is an indicator that something needs to
be questioned or otherwise validated. It is also important to
understand that not all individuals representing those categories will
be alternate assessment participants.
The student’s disability category will be listed on the students IEP and their Eligibility Determination form.
